Community Funding Program

Note: The Q150 Community Funding Program is now closed, and no further funding for projects is available through Q150.

Queensland not-for-profit incorporated community organisations, local councils and tertiary institutions were invited to apply for a grant to fund a Q150 event or activity.

The Q150 Community Funding Program gave Queenslanders the opportunity to celebrate and commemorate our state's 150th anniversary. Q150 community grants were available for activities and projects that reflect the unique culture, heritage and aspirations of our diverse communities.

The funding program offered grants of between $2000 and $10 000.

Types of activities and projects

The types of activities funded include:

  • music and theatrical performances
  • festivals and exhibitions
  • community art works
  • community education, arts and recreation activities
  • books, DVDs, CDs and web-based publications
  • oral histories
  • research projects
  • seminars and lecture series.

Community project profiles

Projects were assessed on their ability to achieve one or more of the following criteria:

  • celebrate and commemorate the anniversary in a way which reflects the vision and themes of the Q150 celebrations
  • raise community awareness of the Q150 celebrations
  • encourage community participation in the development and delivery of the Q150 celebrations
  • contribute to a statewide program of diverse, inclusive and innovative events, celebrations and community projects
  • celebrate the anniversary with projects of lasting significance which provide social, cultural or economic benefits to Queensland communities.

All successful grant applications were required to meet the Q150 community funding grant conditions.
